Information and advice for children & young adults in Northamptonshire
What kind of information and advice?
If you’re worrying about it, you can bet we’ve got information about it! We’ve loads of leaflets, articles and information packs which you are welcome to look through and take away. You can also access information online as well as chatting to staff and volunteers at the lowdown.
We run monthly awareness campaigns, including display board and information leaflets about specific issues, so you can find out more about the things which are affecting you or those you know.
How will information and advice help me?
Sometimes, just understanding the problem can make you feel better. There are so many stories out there; so much nonsense. Some of it can be confusing and leave you not knowing what to believe. the lowdown offers information and support so you can understand what’s really happening and what your options are. We give you the lowdown – trusted, truthful and practical information – and we’re always here to help if you want to find out more or discuss what you should do now.
We won’t judge you, and we won’t tell you what to do – we’ll make sure you have all the facts and we’ll help you figure out what’s next. We’ve supported over 250,000 children and young adults just like you since we opened in 1989. You’re not alone.
I’d like some information or advice. What do I do now?
In person: Drop in and see us (there’s no need to book), or make an appointment (or someone can make an appointment for you). Let us know whether you would prefer to see a male or female counsellor. You can choose.
