Looking for Abuse support services? the lowdown are here to help! We provide free counselling and advice to young people aged 12-25yrs across Northampton.

You’re being abused if you’re being treated in a way which is inappropriate and harmful.

Some examples of abuse include:

Physical abuse – violence, neglect, bullying, inadequate food, warmth or shelter
Sexual abuse – inappropriate touching, sexual acts, seeing or being involved in sexual photos or video
Emotional abuse – threats, humiliation, being made to feel useless, scared, or being made to feel unloved or uncared for

You’re not alone

It’s important to understand that experiencing abuse is not your fault. No-one has the right to abuse you in any way. Abuse doesn’t always come from a stranger. You may be experiencing abuse from a family member or someone you know well, which is understandably confusing. You can be made to feel guilty and ashamed, it is never your fault and we are here to help you.

We can help

We helped 75 people like you deal with ABUSE last year. We know it can be really difficult to ask for help or talk to someone about what’s happening to you or to someone you care about. We’re here to listen and support you if you’d like to discuss a current or past experience of abuse.
