Looking for Bereavement support services? the lowdown are here to help! We provide free counselling and advice to young people aged 12-25yrs across Northampton.
Bereavement usually relates to the death of a loved one, but similar feelings of loss and sadness can emerge in other situations such as the loss of a job, divorce or separation, a relationship break up or a close friend or relative moving away.
It can take time to work through various emotions and responses including some or all of the following: shock, confusion, disbelief, emptiness, loneliness, anger, guilt, stress, anxiety, denial, and depression. The intensity of each emotion you experience and how long it lasts is very personal. The grieving process can’t be hurried, but eventually, over time, the pain will become less raw.
You’re not alone
We will all experience bereavement at some point during our lives, although each situation is different depending on the people involved and the reason for your loss. There’s no right or wrong way to grieve, but there’s a lot of support available to help you understand what has happened, why, and how to work through your feelings.
We can help
