Looking for Smoking support services? the lowdown are here to help! We provide free counselling and advice to young people aged 12-25yrs across Northampton.

People smoke for variety of reasons, such as relieving stress, peer pressure, socialising, and from habit or addiction. You may, like many smokers, want to give up cigarettes for health or financial reasons, but you might be finding that very hard.

The addiction to nicotine and the habit-forming nature of smoking means that trying to stop smoking can cause withdrawal symptoms including feeling irritable and restless and not sleeping well. There are a number of different things that can ease these symptoms and can help you to stop craving cigarettes so that you can save money and be healthier and happier.

You’re not alone

It’s estimated approximately 10 million people smoke in the UK and 114,000 die each year (312 people per day) from smoking-related illness. Although cigarettes cannot be legally sold in the UK to anyone under the age of 18 years old, many young people do have their first cigarette below this age. If you would like to get support around smoking issues, or giving up smoking, there’s lots of support available.
