LGBTQ Support

On average, 1 in 16 young people in the UK identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or are questioning their gender identity and/or sexual orientation and these numbers continue to grow.

We understand that it may feel difficult to find support. Many young people feel isolated and disconnected from social circles or even families and we want you to know that you are not alone.

the lowdown’s LGBTQ Support Service runs youth groups and events for young people between the ages of 13-25. Last year alone we welcomed over 100 young people to our youth group.

Our OUT THERE Groups offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to attend as and when you like, to be who you are, to socialise, meet new friends, talk though difficulties with others who understand, whilst also having fun and joining in with activities.

OUT THERE Youth Group

Please feel free to pop along...

Our group leaders will look after you, ensure you feel welcome, talk you through everything you need to know and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

We also understand that it can be incredibly nerve wracking to take that first step, so your parents are welcome to bring you along and drop you off if you wish or you can bring a best friend who is supporting you.

We can honestly promise that you won’t feel like a stranger for long!
